August 2009:
Welcome to the blog site for Second Childhood Girlfriends. We are new to this so may stumble and bumble as we learn the "blogging ropes!"
We are two friends (Corinne Jarrett and Karen Davis) who met when we each owned a home interior shop in Gresham, Oregon - When we closed our respective shops we decided since we love home decor and wonderful old funky stuff we would share a space in a local antique shop (Monticello Antique Marketplace in Portland Oregon) where we still are today. Since we're girlfriends having fun in our Second Childhood we decided to use it as our name.

We specialize in shabby chic, romantic vintage, and all manner of delightful things including small painted furniture and other vintage treasures for your home. We love to present our items in color co-ordinated or themed groupings and lean toward whites, pastels, and touches of black, but we also throw in primary colors as well. You never know what you will find, but hopefully it will be something you love.
In addition to our antique mall space we participate in a variety of shows throughout the year. Our last show was at BARN HOUSE in Battleground, WA. and as usual, was incredible. Joe and Jermonne have a natural talent for bringing together wonderful people and wonderful stuff to buy in a most wonderful setting. As one customer (a gentleman) summed it up "...this place is magical!" When we figure out how to add pictures to this blog and link to other sites we will do so. You won't want to miss their next show.
Our next show will be the October EXPO show in Portland.
Well, this isn't much for a beginning, but we have to start somewhere, so now to see if I we can post this and then call it up again!
